Primer
A primer designed for metal is still highly recommended if a part is to be exposed to moisture. Once water seeps through to the bare metal, oxidation will begin (plain steel will simply rust). Metal primers might contain additional materials to protect against corrosion, such as sacrificial zinc.

Primed finished doorsets should be finish painted as soon as possible to protect against the elements and corrosion.

Powder Coat
Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin". The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.

DATA SHEET
Textured
A powder coated product offered with a textured / plastisol effect. It is designed for the exterior environment, offering excellent weather resistance and providing a hard wearing and durable appearance. Colours are limited and dependant upon the volume of doors to be coated. Please contact our sales Department for more details.

Anti-graffiti
An anti-graffiti coating is a coating that prevents graffiti paint from sticking to surfaces. These work by creating a protective surface that spray paint cannot bond to. After the surface has been vandalized, often all that is needed to remove the paint is a simple solvent (toluene) and some manual labour. The underlying surface and the protective coating will remain undamaged.
DATA SHEET
Steel cladding
Surface fixed stainless, aluminium or rubber protection applied to the internal or external leaf and frame face to give a high level of protection from trolleys in a busy traffic environment. Architectural stainless steel pattern designs are available in addition to blend in with the surrounding cladding or walls where an attractive and high quality finish is required.

• Stainless steel plain finish
• Stainless steel plain pattern
• Aluminium chequer plate
• Rubber protection
Timber cladding
Surface fixed timber sections usually tongue and grooved held in position on the external face of the steel door leaf with a stainless steel perimeter channel.

• Cedar / oak tongue and groove system
Stone cladding
Small stone chippings applied to the external face of the door leaf with a resin bonded glue to provide an extremely high abrasive finish resistant to graffiti ideally suited for remote locations such as substations with low vigilance.
Tongue and grooved
As an integral part of the outer door skin the steel is specially formed to provide a tongue and groove or Georgian panel effect. This detail has the benefit on an aesthetic timber door design to blend in with the surrounding area without the problems of warping or continually repainting that timber doors require.
